Jean Baldwin

I am a native Atlantan, and have been in the interior design business in Atlanta and Northwest Florida since 1968.

I began painting while living in Gulf Breeze, Florida, and exhibited my work through the Quayside Gallery in Pensacola. I attended Pensacola Junior College, the University of Tennessee at Chattonooga, and Atlanta College of Art.

After many years of placing original art in businesses and residences, I decided it was time to put some of the art education to use on my own paintings. I began to study art with various teachers locally, and attended workshops. My affiliation with Atlanta art groups such as Southern Colours, Art Station, Kudzu Art Zone, and Atlanta Artists Center affords an opportunity to show and market my work, as well as the greatest benefit of all which is the company of other artists.

My greatest enjoyment comes in drawing and painting people who are busy with the ordinary tasks and preoccupations of life. I also enjoy teaching art to children, especially my seven year old granddaughter, Lauren, who is a “prolific and phenomenal artist”.
